Car Insurance

Let us do the work - complete one form and we will do the rest.

Shopping for car insurance can be a laborious task. Finding the right deal from numerous UK car insurance companies can prove to be an overwhelming challenge. Nowadays there’s no reason to labour over the search for the best quote. Our quote engine will compare car insurance quotes from 150 car insurance products, including schemes from Norwich Union, AXA and Royal & SunAllliance.

Types of Cover

It is illegal to drive in the UK without adequate insurance cover and therefore the minimum standard of cover you can take out is ‘third party only’. This covers:

  • Liability for injuries to others, including passengers.
  • Liability for damage to someone’s property.
  • Liability of passengers for accidents caused by them.
  • Liability arising from the use of a caravan or trailer while attached to the car.

The next level up is ‘third party fire and theft cover’ which will also pay out if your vehicle is stolen or set on fire.

A comprehensive car insurance policy will pay-out for all of the areas covered by third party fire and theft with the addition of paying for any damage to your own vehicle regardless of who caused the accident. Also included are Windscreen cover, Personal Accident benefits, Personal Belongings and Medical Expenses.

Though polices vary between individual car insurance companies, benefits typically include a courtesy car and free cover for driving in Europe.

Help lower your premiums:

Security

Fit an approved alarm and immobiliser, such as a Thatcham 1 or Thatcham 2. All improvements to security could help to lower your car insurance costs.

Policy excess

Change the excess you are prepared to pay on any claim to reduce the premium. With voluntary excess the more you are willing to cover yourself in the event of an accident the lower your premium.

Mileage

Check your mileage to make sure you are not paying extra for miles you are not covering in your car. Try and work out how many miles you will genuinely cover. There are several low mileage products on the Market offering reduced premiums.

Parking

Keep your car parked in a locked garage overnight if you can - this can help reduce the premium. More than 50% of vehicle thefts occur during the night so if your car is safely locked away it makes sense that your insurance costs will be reduced as a consequence.

Pass Plus

If you're a new driver, buying your first car, then taking your Pass Plus may reduce your premiums. The Pass Plus certificate can only be obtained within the first year of passing your driving test.
